Possibly the campiest motorcycle movie ever made. Considered Japan’s answer to The Legend of the Lone Ranger, The Moon Mask Rider is a zany tokusatsu movie released back in 1981 (it totally bombed at the Japanese box-office).
The Moon Mask Rider speeds around town on his “Special Equipped” Honda CB750 Turbo motorcycle trying to save his city from New Japanica, a cult whose lucrative thefts and crimes are underscored by live performances of 80’s Japanese funk music. The unique point about The Moon Mask Rider however, is that he’s probably the only super hero who expects a 10% commission on any stolen money he retrieves. You’ve never seen anything like it. Promise.
